 Beautiful sound and fit, durability = FAILURE September 6, 2010

As a music professional I've always counted on Bose for the best in sound quality and these ear buds don't disappoint. I've told countless students to purchase them for the best quality sound. However, they are poorly put together, I used these gently for about a year and 3 months and the wire broke, then it broke again. They still worked, then one day the right ear bud just stopped working. I paid $100 for these things and they lasted less than 2 years! I've stopped recommending them to my students and will not recommend again until Bose corrects the problem. I am disappointed that such a great company with such great products would allow something to go on the market with such poor workmanship. More so, I'm disappointed that they charge such prices for a product that by now they MUST know is less than their standard of quality. I will not be purchasing a new pair. I will find another viable option and will no longer recommend this product to my students.

SHOELESS
I REALLY LIKE THE SOUND QUALLITY, AND EASE OF USE, AND FIT. A BIT PRICEY, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Received these 2 days earlier than promised. Thanx amazon once again for excellent service. 1st i want to mention comfort. These headphone are extremely comfortable placed in the ear. i have gone thru a lot of in ear headphones and these are by far the best I've owned so far. Sound is awesome. Bose knows sound and once again they prove that with this little piece of hardware. for the price of $ 58 with free shipping and no sales tax, i think its the best deal in high performing headphones one can expect to buy. Now, i do read other people mentioning that these headphones are not durable and don't last more than 12-18 months. All i can say is that i'll just have to wait and see how long they last. meanwhile, i'm going to enjoy the sound quality of this new listening device that i own. another word of advice to buyers, please refrain from buying it from ebay or 3rd party sellers. there is a lot of grey market imitation headphones similar to these. buy from reliable source such as amazon, it's going to be worth the extra $ 10 you pay for authenticity.

I have read many of the reviews for these and I'm quite surprised about the "mixed bag" reviews. I wanted to write a review myself to help clear up some of the things people have said.
When these first came out, they were poorly designed. I was one of the first people to buy these when they came on the market and owned and used them everyday at work for about a year. Then came the problems. The rubber pieces that fit into your ear were flimsy and fell off the earphone itself quite easily. The metal mesh that filters the sound fell out of one of the ear buds. The wire coating started fraying and the inner wire was exposed. I was very disappointed and quite annoyed. However, I contacted Bose and they told me that they had heard all of the complaints and they had redesigned the new ones which supposedly fixed all of the consumer issues. The Bose client representative offered to ship me a new pair free of charge seeing as I had so many issues with the first set.
I am happy to announce that after almost almost 3 months with the newly designed ones, I can already tell that the design and quality is much improved. The biggest annoying part of the last pair was the super comfortable rubber ear pieces kept coming off the ear bud. With the redesign, the rubber piece has a slit in it that is designed to fit right over an added piece of plastic on the actual earphone itself. It's extremely well done and the rubber piece has not come off ONCE since receiving the new pair.
Now for the sound quality, you can't beat it with any other in ear headphones on the market. Superior sound quality and a surprising amount of bass coming from such little ear buds. You will be very impressed with the sound quality.
Comfort...well it's quite possible that you will forget that you even have them in, they are that naturally comfortable. They come with 3 sets of different sized rubber ear pieces (S, M, and L). Figure out which one is best for you, slide/snap them on and they will fit into your ear so incredibly well and they WILL stay put, even when jogging or working out. They are incredibly comfortable.
I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone and for the people that say they are trash or aren't good either have the "first design" of them or obviously don't know what they are talking about.

This ear phones have good sound, very good to hear and it clear. Great headsets but they do not last. Quality of workmanship is bad. Mine is 13 month old gently used died cannot hear from one ear.
